Eligibility Criteria: One needs to clear their HSC (12th grade) exam and nowadays also qualify  the common entrance exam.

Course Duration: 4 years full time.

Course Description:  Pharmacy is the art and science of preparing and dispensing drugs and medicines. The course is spread out over a period of four years. It is divided into 8 semesters.
The first two semesters mainly focus on creating a basic foundation for organic chemistry, pharmaceutics and physical pharmacy. One also needs to study Anatomy and Pathophysiology.
The second semester introduces you to Pharmaceutical and Medicinal chemistry which is like the backbone of pharmacy. One needs to continue studying it till the final year.
The course also helps you to get well versed with Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Engineering. It touches on the basics of Biotechnology and Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics.The course is a good blend of  both the chemical as well as the health sciences.


Career Scope: After Pharmacy one can can think of starting their own pharmacy store, or work for pharmaceutical companies as Medical representatives, Production Supervisors or trainees.
I would recommend every individual to pursue their masters as it would contribute to their career growth. One can pursue their M.Pharm by qualifying GATE or they can think of doing their MS, MBA or Phd. They can also consider an intergrated MS-Phd if they have good scores throughout their academic program.
 

Ideal Candidate: A person who enjoys analysis, chemistry, biology and application. Someone who enjoys playing with medicines and working in the laboratory for hours would be an ideal candidate for the program.

According to me it is one of the most promising careers.
